Our story
I found the Pixel and Friends brand after a scary moment with Digit. At just 9 months old, he was diagnosed with an extremely rare disorder called Pure Red Cell Aplasia.. Medications, vet visits, and everything in between suddenly became a huge part of our lives. I had to learn fast—and learn well—how to give pills and handle care in ways that were calm, cooperative, and as stress-free as possible. Over time, I figured out techniques that worked for my cats and started sharing what I learned with others.
Pixel and Friends grew out of that experience. It’s not just about cats taking medicine (though we’ve mastered that too!)—it’s about spreading awareness for fear free care and rare conditions like PRCA, while also bringing a little joy, laughter, and fun into your day. We share the messy, the sweet, the playful, and the unforgettable moments of our furry family, hoping to make life a little easier—and a lot more entertaining—for fellow cat lovers.
Why We Do This
Life with a chronically ill cat taught me a lot about the challenges of pet care—and how much easier it can be with the right approach. I’m here to show that fear free, cooperative care isn’t just possible, it can be fun. We also want to raise awareness for rare conditions like PRCA in cats, so other pets and their humans don’t have to face it alone.
At the same time, life with pets is full of joy, chaos, and downright ridiculous moments. Sharing those moments helps brighten someone’s day—and maybe even teaches a tip or two along the way.
